A shop on Chestnut Street
Luke Santos opened Art Zone Barbering in Duxbury's Hall's Corner on Thursday, October 5, 2023. "I couldn't have asked for a better start," he said a year later.

Before the sign went up
Luke has lived on the South Shore for more than twenty years. Before Art Zone he cut hair in Pembroke, and a lot of his clients have stories like this one, posted by one family on opening day: they found "a guy named Luke" in 2020, were "instantly overly impressed", and booked a first haircut at the new shop to celebrate. Google reviews tell the same story about Brenner: clients who have followed him for six years and counting.
The name
Ask where the name comes from and the shop answers with a photo of a fresh cut: "Ain't that a work of art?" Its posts say the rest: "Touch of an artist", "Details matter", "Precision in every detail". The logo carries the trade: the pole over the door, the straight razor, est. 2023.
The shop
White walls, round mirrors, black chairs, leather sofas, a bicycle on the wall and a red phone-box door at the back. Clients describe it the same way again and again: clean, bright, welcoming, and on time.

The barbers
Five chairs and five barbers. Choose yours when you book on Fresha.
Duxlife
The idea of a clothing line had been around for years; it clicked when the barbershop opened. Duxlife is Duxbury's own brand: T-shirts printed with the town's landmarks and hats with a sunset patch, new colors this summer, sold at the shop.
"Once I opened the barbershop in town, the intention and vision to go as far as we can possibly go became clear," Luke told a local publication in 2024.
